The Spawning:
Their genitals were clearly visible. The female had a strong spawning tube. The male has a much shorter, thinner and pointed.
The female then decided to place the spawning by it (in my case) to a stone cleaning started what then with the male involved. Both impressed with intense staining, spreads fins, gills open and body tremors.
The Spawning took place with an egg on the rock track and the male fertilized a few seconds later. After delivery of about 100 eggs Spawning was completed.

The female over the entire surveillance and care. You defenses everything it came too close, including males and carefully removed the dirt and plant remains from the nests. That meant 24 hours of stress, little or garnicht eaten.

The Bolivian SBB have in me a spawning Interwall of approximately 2-3 weeks.

Day 001

The area:

Day 003

The slip:

The eggs began to move. The mother helped the young by the eggs in his mouth and took the boys out of the egg literally chewed. The brood was then freed in a pit excavated spat.
Several times a day, the entire brood into another pit reburied and the boys Fresh diversified.

Day 006

Yolk sac consumed:
As the boys soon had to be fed, I put 2 bottles of Artemia nauplii to.

Day 007

Starting with Artemia-nauplii to feeding.

Day 012

3% of survivors:
There are every day less, because exploring the curious small, or when hunting in the Artemia nauplii were eaten a lot. The mother is surely also to the small out, because they hardly even had to eat.

Day 031

3 of the small still live.
Stopped with Artemia-nauplii to feed. You must now learn to feed what I do all the feeding, this will be adopted without any problems.

The 3 today for the first time eat mosquito larvae.

Day 131

The treasury of the small districts is clear and everyone defends his territory with panache.

Nicely done! Bolivians are just as interesting as their flashier relatives the Blue Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) but often overlooked because they are not as eye-catchingly bright.

Are you from Germany?
