I have to treat a 10 gallon tank for Camallanus.

I've only found Levasole pills near me and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to measure the correct dosage. And how many pills should I buy. They had only 3 left for .49cents each.

There is .184 grams of Levamisole Hydrochloride in each tablet.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply to my ?.

Did you dissolve the Levasole pill in some tank water first?

Any guidance you can give me would be appreciated.

I wouldn't worry even if you over dose I don't think it will harm the fish. I accidently dropped 40 grams into a 40 gal and then ended up leaving it for a day and the fish all lived. Edit-those prices are also insane for 40g's I only paid less than 20 bucks look at vet supply stores online for pig dewormer. My local hardware/feed store also sells it.

Levamisole is getting very hard to find, some think the stuff still on the farm supply shelf may be past it's date.

As for overdosing, several years ago the "recommended" dose was 10ppm but it's not more effective & some fish did have an adverse reaction. I can't remember if they died or not.

Bioshock, I think you were very lucky or maybe meant miligrams not grams. The pig wormer I have is only 20g for ~$18 so charles' (inkmkr) prices aren't really out of line for bulk 100g/$110.

Wow. I'm surprised to see this old thread resurrected. I do hope it can help someone who sees it.

Lillyan , thanks for posting the info. I had gotten the powder from
http://www.inkmkr.com/Fish/ItemsForSale.html shortly after posting my problem. Mr. Harrison was extremely helpful with treatment questions I had.

The treatment is quite a bit of work but the medicine worked great and my once little angelfish is now a little over a year old and very healthy.

fishorama, I still have that same original pill! Holding on to it, just in case.....thank again for you help back then.

Glad it worked GCL. Charles is a vet I think with a personal interest in fish. I know he's very helpful from others too.

I still have both pills & some powder in the fridge just in case I get new loaches LOL.

I recently tried deworming flake from http://www.angelsplus.com/FlakeMedicated.htm but since I'm only treating for the possibility of worms it's hard to tell which works best. I used it on discus & histrionica loaches but sick fish don't always eat so a treatment in the water can be better.
