first, please be easy on me. I don't know any better. I posted a couple questions already about the fish. 3 getting larger by the day feeders. I have already been told to rehome them to a pond. my wife really really really wants to keep them. If I can accommodate her without hurting the fish I will. I may eventually have to if they get too big anyway. on to the questions. I'm actively seeking a 100/125 gal tank in the local classifieds. now for filtration: would the fx5 or the SUNSUN 530gph cannister pump be too much turbulence for the tank? or should I go smaller. I really like the tanks with rocks, so can I get rocks from the local river, stream or sand and gravel pit? Not going to put anything live in the tank except the fish. saying help at this point would be an understatement...

I would look for a tank with a foot print of 72"x18" minimum with 24" being better IMO. I think you would be better off with the FX5 or maybe 2 of the SunSun's because goldies produce alot of waste I think. These are JMO's

I was thinking 48x24x24. my floor space is somewhat limited. this would give me 120 +/- should be acceptable? the SunSun I was looking at is the larger of the offerings.specs at 530 gph. the smaller ones are 265 gph. i already have an AC70 in my 30 I could also use...

That tank will work for the short term, but if they are your typical comet feeder...they need a pond or a new home.

Get 2 Eheim 2217 ~ 300
The SunSun is just icky and if you're gonna get the FX5, might as get the Eheim Pro lll line.

Going out on a limb, but Im pretty sure that 2x 2217 will let you keep pretty much anything you want plant or fish, dead or alive under 200 gallon.
