The plants you buy often have though little lead wraps at the bottom, to weigh them down. It seems to me that these are cut from larger sheets. Where could I buy a roll of this? I would like to make some of my own. :)

Well, I am looking to use these not on my plants, but on plants for sale.
I've seen a lot of people use lead, so it must not be too bad.

Buy a roll of solder. Just make sure it's a solid type without a rosin or flux core.

lol i dont like putting lead in my tank either. however, when i rescaped i wrapped my anacharis in a strip of quilt batting used a cable tie to keep it closed. worked like a charm.

whats the worse that could happen? mentally retarded fish?

you can probably buy it at home depot or lowes. go to the roofing section, its called lead flashing. they use lead near chimneys and some other areas. it comes in rolls. its pretty expensive though. maybe if you know a roofer you could get a small section from him

My brother years ago used lead fishing weights to hold down some plants, in a short time his fish started dieing. Your not use them on your plants, but want to use them on plants you sell to others???? T don't think the clips retailers use are made of lead.

The lead strips are fine for holding down plants.I have used them for years. The solder idea is a great one.

I use them (they save my sanity lol) but I'm laxy so I just buy 'em. My LFS sells packs of them for like $1, and apparently they're sold online too.
