After finally getting my fifty five to propegate I added the new plants to my kids ten. Then came the co2. It was a one liter pop bottle diy that ran into a Fluval internal filter. Things worked great until the cat knocked the pop bottle over. About a third of the sugar, yeast mixture ran through my filter into the tank.
The cloudy slime that followed was a disaster the EPA may have been interested in. I did fifty percent water changes and cleaned everything often. Its still a little cloudy, but I saved all the fish (2 clown loaches, 2 gold barbs, and a dwarf ciclid of some sort...ram I think).
Was it bacteria, or did the yeast go ballistic. The slime and cloudiness was white so I doublt it was the yeast? :argh
