Blind goldfish rehomed

A friend just rehomed I think 5 goldfish and a pleco to a pond. She'd had them all in a 29 gallon tank because she didn't know about stunting and how hard it is to keep a tank clean with that many goldfish. They are all comet or common body type and had all gotten to about 6" or so. They were rehomed to a man made pond, heated in winter, that includes koi. One of the goldfish is blind. Is it likely to be able to get enough to eat in a pond setting? It has done okay in the tank with goldfish and a pleco, but grew slower/less than the other goldfish.
 
Help! Is a blind goldfish likely to find enough food in a pond? Should she try to catch in and take it back to her 29 as the sole inhabitant?
 
I'd teach the fish to feed on hands but they tend to do well even when blind in some cases. If it's growing noticeably slower, then I would entertain the idea to teach it to handfeed.:) A pond though will have abundant food supply so it may still get its fair share.
 
Thanks, Lupin. She's going to go visit them this week and I'll ask if she's seen the blind one.
 
i had 5 commets a while ago and 1 was blind,.. they were in my horse trough and wintered there very well,.. and all 4 of them would swim with her to guide her around she would swin below their pectoral fins and always stay there so when other got food she did too,.. and she was quite fat,..lol so golfish care for their own also most fish feed by smell anyway,.. not sight,.... i think she will be just fine,.
