Hello all,
I am new to this group but i just noticed a couple of white spots on my carpintis so i raised the temperature from 80 to 86 and added about 2tbs of salt per 5 gallons of water. Is this enough if i catch ich early enough? or should i do more.

The other fish in the tank are a green terror, firemouth, and jaguar, all fish in the tank are an inch long in a 29 gallon tank.

I also just noticed a couple one or two white specs on my green terror yesterday. I haven't noticed signs of scratching and all of them seem to be eating well and seem generally happy.

Yes, you are on the right track. It can take a few days before you start seeing any noticeable improvement.

Yeah i am going to get a larger tank when they get larger but for now they are just little guys.

An update the ich cleared up and there have been no signs for the past 5 days so i am going to reduce the salt concentration and water temp today and restore it the the usual settings. Thanks a lot for the input guys.

I am going to attempt the salt treatment for ich - so the correst concentration is 2 tbs for every 5g? Temp 86? I Have tetras, a mollie, swordtails, and a cory (and a baby guppy that came a hitch hiker)

Yes just table salt. You can even do more than 2tsp per 5g. Also keep up the temp and salts for a week after it's visibly gone!!!
