Tatsu has been acting great but I just noticed he has a tiny white spot on his front fin. He is acting fine super active, eating well. I dont know if its anything to worry about but asking cant hurt ... what looks like spot on his face aren't there in real life its from the flash and his scaled glimmer. but that one spot is bothering me. look close its on the fin he is sticking out

On his right pectoral fin? That just looks like he injured himself somehow, the fin ray became damaged. Could be a spot of fungus or some kind of bacteria due to the injury. But I wouldn't worry about it unless more show up. Fish pretty commonly injure themselves and get a white spot here or there.

Unless you see more or it gets bigger it shouldn't be a worry. Keep his water quality high and he'll most likely heal and fight it off.

ok i'll keep an eye on him. i'm also treating with melafix

From other threads I've recently read that melafix shouldn't be used with labyrinth fish (bettas, gouramis, etc.). So you should probably discontinue that.

I'm using 1/2 to 3/4 the dosage ... bettafix is watered down melafix ... i did a ton of research and used properly and carefully it actually wont hurt them ...Thats why I'm using a weak dosage... but of I get more objections i'll discontinue it :) no problem as long as my fishies are healthy

My problem with melafix is that I don't trust they're mixing the correct amount of tea tree oil each time. I had melafix from one bottle severely stress several species of fish and kill of my biological bacteria (and this was using a lowered dose). So it led me to believe that that bottle had higher amounts of tea tree oil than it was supposed to.

If you're using a lower dose and your betta seems fine I wouldn't worry about it at the moment. But watch him closely and make sure you don't see any signs of stress. If he seems to have issues immediately remove it from the water.

he is active and swimming around. he doesnt seem stressed I dont think he's acting just like he always has no clamped fins no anything and he's always on everything he destroyed my planting i gotta go do it again lol

does it look ok to everyone else? the more opinions the better :) not that i dont trust your opinion riverfishgirl its just as we all know the more information we can get the better :)

Lol, I'm not offended or anything. I wouldn't take advice from just one person whether I think they're knowledgeable or not.
