New bettas

Picked up these guys today from Petsmart. Been going through fish withdrawal and the hotel I'm at said it was cool if I got a small tank. I was just going to get a lone betta, but then I couldn't decide between these two. I ended up rigging dividers using filter cartridges since they didn't have dividers small enough to fit the tank. I picked up one of those mini Tom Rapids filters for filtration. I'm not going to bother scaping the tank since I'll be moving them in a month. When I get home, one will go in the 5g with the endlers, the other will get the 2.5g to itself. Or I may set up a 10g and divide it for 3 bettas (have one at home already).

haha you nut! When you asked about the tank, did they give you a weird look? Very pretty bettas though. I hope they like to travel!
 
Thanks Tay! I couldn't pass them up. I'm sure they'll travel just fine...2100 miles should be nothing to them. And I'll have a dog and a cat in the car too. :nilly:

I called them on the phone because I'd already seen them at the store. I do think the woman at the front desk thought it was funny. I wish I could have seen her face.

I think bettas are my weak point. I can't look at them in the store for fear of bring one or five home. Good looking pick ups. They're probably so happy to be out of the cups that a bit more travel won't bother them at all.
 
Nice looking Bettas, I think the white one would be a good contrast wih your endlers when you get back.

I had a really good looking blue one in with my endlers.

I don't think travel will be that big of a deal with them.
