I have no idea what this is.....fungus?

there are no spots on the fish or any other signs of injury.
They are eating and swimming normally. The male is getting increasingly aggressive and is chasing the female and keeping her off in the corner.

I noticed these spots on them and thought at first they had a domestic dispute...perhaps the dad spent too much time at the bar or maybe mom didn't get dinner made in time. But over the past few days they have gotten worse.

Looks like a wound to me. Something like that can happen in the blink of an eye.
 
What should I do about about it?
 
Initially, lots of water changes and maybe a little pima/melafix (I forget which one). Keep an eye on it, and if it starts to get any worse, then take further action.
 
That's it at this point.
 
ok. I will start that immediately. The bit I'm most worried about is on his belly in the first picture.
