I was told that pond snails don't eat Java Ferns, but I'm pretty sure mine are doing this in my Betta tank. My Java Ferns are just starting to look shredded, and I'm trying to breed these danged snails.

Anyone know if there's any truth to snails not liking Java Ferns?

I have java ferns and rams horns and pond snails in my tanks. No problems at all. Snails only tend to start to eat leaves that are already decaying and even though you see them on the plants all the time they are geberally eating scraps of food or algae off the leaves.

Java ferns strat to develop brown spots and holes as their leaves age often, IME. I wouldn't be too worried.
