Help!! Plants Dying!!

First of all, I dont know what happened to the thread I created before but it has no post in it :help:

My plants were out of water and gravel for 2 hours with only the roots inside some water. I was switching to a new tank and then when I checked the leaves were all crunched together and looked weak. The plants looked out of energy and needed major help. I quickly put them inside gravel in my new tank setup and its been an hour and they are standing but still look crunched up and VERY weak. What should I do? The lighting is on but my plants look lifeless Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad !!
SOMEBODY HELP QUICK BEFORE THE PLANTS DIE!
 
well your plans are most certainly dead. aquatic plant should never be left out of water more than a couple of minutes or they will dry out and croak for good. it mainly because aquatic plants lack the cuticle on their leaves that stop land plants from drying out. what types of plant are they?some plants could stand it because some are mphibious but still will dry out if the air is too dry.
 
eh.. both sword plants, they should perk up in a while. If not, the chain swords will produce a lot of runners in a short time anyway.
 
I disagree with MAG. Whatever the aquatic plants lack, they can survive for quite a long time. When you have aquatic plants shipped, they are shipped with some water, but not enough to submerge them... and they still live. I just had a package of hairgrass, microsword, and a few others... in a box (in the dark) for 4 days. No problems :)
 
Your plants are not dead. Prune a couple of leaves of at a time and they will begin to grow new leaf if you haven't waited too long. the plant will try to keep the old leaf alive but that is a waste of energy. If you prune the plant will use that energy to produce new leaf amazingly quick. Good uck!
