SCWD's (squid)

From the reports I've read, they seem a little hit or miss with some people claiming that the switching mechanism stops working after a little while and others being unable to stop leaks from the connectors.

Part of the problem is that the SQWD requires slip connections with hose clamps rather than threaded or even barbed fittings.

Be aware that the switching rate is dependant on the water pressure that's coming through so you need to be aware of the pump you use.

I think for the money it's a good concept.

Here's an example of one in action as part of a closed loop:

Alot of people use more than one on a tank, they uses them at my lfs... seem pretty cool. (I like oceansmotions or seaswirls better, but for the money these would work on a budget).

I have one on my 30 cube being run by a Mag 7 and it has worked great for more than a year now.
