I was at my LFS today and saw a shrimp that i liked.

Its pretty big like about 1inch big, and they stay still facing toward the current. And there forwarms? looks like little nets and they spread it out collecting food floating by, and then they stuff their hands in their mouth.

The shrimp is the color of every other shrimp, but with one big red lines goding down its back and a few other small lines on the body.

So what could they be?

Thanks

It has the same fan like hands like that, but its not red...

K did some research, i guess they are bamboo shrimp

so...how do you feed these guys? haha

Also the reasion why they wernt red because they were kinda scared/shy...and they will turn red when they feel right.

I usually drop a few shrimp pellets in the tank and let them disolve so that the particles are floating in the water. I also bought some fry food(liquid and powder) which I put in the water. I'm not sure if that does anything or if they can even eat it but I figured it would be better then nothing! Supposedly they will just filter out particles from the water on thier own. Mine have been doing great, I have had them for a couple weeks and they have all molted. I know there are a couple other people with bamboo shrimp. I would be interested to hear how they feed their shrimp!

Oh, yeah they should turn red once you buy them and they are more comfortable. However, I have also heard the the more dominate of the bunch will be noticably more red. Mine tend to change colors depending on different things such as time of day, if they are eating, etc.

when i feed my rainbows, they would eat the falkes and shoot small portions out of there gills that is all grinded up. Will that work? and shrimp pellets wont last till it disolves in my tank from the loaches.
