Maybe some of you can advise... I am looking for a new addition(s) to my 25 gal. and don't really have much experience with cichlids. I do find them quite beautiful though and would like to own one or more. Right now the occupants of my tank are as follows:
1 dwarf flame gourami
3 blackskirt tetras
2 serpae tetras
4 panda corys
2 SAEs
I was reading that Blue Rams are quite peaceful and remain rather small.
Let me give you my water perameters:
no2 - 0
no3 - >5
ammonia - 0
ph 6.8 - 7
temp 78
I will be adding a nice cave-like piece of bog wood soon and have many plastic plants and cave decorations. The gourami is somewhat territoral but has claimed a spot and just kind of hangs there.
Well, sorry so long winded... thanks for reading and any recommendations would be appreciated :)

I really don't feel you should add any more to your current stocking levels.

Get another tank then a pair of rams, or lose the current fish and get rams. Even then the size is the minimum.

Lose the current fish? Like ALL the current fish?

My recommendation would be yes, but please wait for additional input. For me, a 29 is a nice spot for a mating pair of rams.

i'm with mr. bishop.

Well, I could never just "lose" all my fishies like that so I guess I'll have to wait to get a cichlid.

dimensions are 12" x 30"

I have never seen that acronymn, what are SAEs?

Hey BOO! Sorry, had to say that...a line from To Kill a Mockingbird....anyway, a pair of rams would be OK in your set up......the rams will do fine with the rest of the fish on your list...I would say the only questionable fish would be the SAEs....they can be a little frenetic as they get older, and can hit 5-6 inches....I have had Rams in community settings and they do fine....have fun! Google some ram sites on the internet.....
