Too much circulation???

Ok, I've read a few post before on circulation and how you can really never have too much circulation BUT :). My friend was going to sell her SEIO m1500 but instead she gave it me. I had some old powerheads running in my 55gal reef so I decided to just use this one. WELL, it turns out its super strong (duh I kinda knew that its 1500gph ) and a few of my corals arent' liking it, especially my colt and my toadstool. Should I just remove this one because its too much? My other corals are ok but the colt is huge and will get it anywhere I place it. I know I can just take it off and put the old ones back in. But maybe its just because its not used to it. Any suggestions . Thanks
 
Well I tried to direct it towards the front part of the tank so that it would bounce and not be so direct. Its still very strong. Could it damage the coral ?

I don't know what that pump looks like but could you split the flow, then put a valve on each line and close the valve to half way? This would slow the flow down some. Just a thought.
 
I don't think there's much you can do to reduce the flow of a Seio since it's a powerhead and not a return pump where you can slap on a valve.

You can point it up and against the back pane of glass to reduce flow, but I'd probably just yank it out if you only have soft corals like colt. These corals prefer low water flow.
