I've decided I'd love for my 10g tank to be very well planted, but I kinda need cheap plants.

ummmm..... I depends greatly on what kind on where you live. I don't know what's cheap where you are... you know all about proper plant care, right? some good plants that are usually cheap and easy to care for are ancharis, java moss, java fern, and saggitarias, but like I said, it all depends on where you live.
 
oh, you're look for plants to buy... sorry.
 
Best bet for cheep plants is to get to know people who have planted tanks in your area--they usually are willing to share clippings. People further away charge postage, so it tends to be more expensive, whereas people will give the plants for free in your neighborhood.
 
thanks for the help. I have anacharis but that's it. I live in Southern Wisconsin if anyone here lives nearby...
