Went to my girlfriends house today to put up lights (There all afraid of heights) and her mom was working on cutting a tree down. Well I jumped out of the car and started to gather stuff up for her. Then we headed over and tore out a latic work display full of ivory. She asked me what we should do with the bare space and I told her a pond would look realy good there (Open Mouth Insert Foot)! Well here is some photo's of the outcome of me saying that.

Here is a couple of photo's from the walkpath next to the frount door.

We were only going to go 6" deep and leave the remaining above ground but I ended up pulling bolders (OK not quite but BIG rocks out) so I went deeper. It only took around 4 hours to get this looking like this.

What do you all think?

It gets mostly shade with sun hitting durring part of the day but the way it is set should cast a shaddow over most of the pond.

Some of my pics got mixed up but you can still see them so I am not edditing. Pay no attention to the thing that says where they comefrom.

I forgot to mention she just happened to have everything we needed for this laying around at her place. I will be building a filter sometime soon before we add fish from her other pond. We are only adding her cheaper fish to this one becouse more animals could access this one. Her other pond is now way overstocked so this should be a help to it.

After I get done with this sem. at school we are building a 6" deep creek that will lead to another pond in the front yard. I don't know if we will be putting fish in that one though becouse it will be getting direct sun. We will put some flag stone around the edge and then take temp. throughout the summer and see if it will stay cool enough in this desert heat. Trying to think of a way to give them some more shade then this though without obstructing the veiw and without adding a bridge. Any Ideas?

Thank you

just dont think about putting any fish in there.

Why is that? Its about 60gal. it just doesn't look like it if that is why you are saying that and we have a large pond in the rear for any that are getting to large. The reason it looks so small is that the rocks cover alot of water.
