What is the white looking stuff growing on my java moss? Is it normal? If not, how do I get rid of it?

Looks like algae from the pics, it's hard to tell though.

Could be algae...but is it only growing on one side of the moss frond? If it is I'd suspect it's simply the root hairs (the technical name escapes me) the moss uses to attach to objects.
