Does anyone know how to treat this disease? I have a dwarf zebra lion with it, fresh water dips seem to make it fall off but they grow back in a week. I am currently treating in a qt tank with AP's Quick Cure. I was wondering if anyone had any better ideas or success with this disease. I read on some sites it just goes away on it's own sometimes??? Any advise would be great. thanks

i'm not a 'marine' guy but here's some info on this disease as it applies to freshwater. it 'may' be similar in a marine environment?

Lymphocystis is a viral disorder which infects cells and causes them to become megaloblastic, i.e larger than normal.

this disease used to be considered untreatable as most viral infections. recent research however, has shown that neutral Acriflavine 'may' be effective in treating this disease. "Aquarium Products" makes a product called "Lymphocystis Cure" which contains Acriflavine as it's active ingredient.

if you cannot get this product, try and find neutral Acriflavine in raw form.

treating in a well aerated hospital tank. Bathe the fish 3-5 hours in iso-thermic iso-pH water according to label instructions for the Aquarium Products and replace the fish in its main tank. Re-bathe again in five days when you will already be seeing a reduction in lesion mass. Regrowth has not been seen after complete clearance.

note, Acriflavine will not work on other granulomata or cancers. note too, that as a virus, Lymphocystis is rarely fatal and may run it's own course and disappear on its own.

Nitrates=20 or less (I'm working on these!)
Nitrites=0
Ammonia=0
PH=8.3
Salt level is approx=1.021
Tank has been running for almost 1 year now. 55 Gallon, 1 lunar wrasse, dwarf lion, flame angel, hippo tang, valantini puffer, 1 clown

The problem maybe it will only eat live food, I have tried over and over again to get him to eat frozen krill. All I can get around here is minnows, which I know are not great for nutrition. I load them up on marine flakes before I feed to him....

Live2pad- I read about that stuff AP makes but couldn't find it. It looks like they changed the lable or something. I sent them an e-mail I'm waiting for response. I ordered quickcure from thatfishplace and the bottle said cures lympocyctis but when I received it it only said cures ick????

quick cure is a forrmalin based parasite treatment and contains nothing that will 'cure' or even mitigate lymphocystis.
