Should I replace my new 10 000K bulbs ?

I just purchased a lamp with 2x 24w 10 000K bulbs. The shop says... 10K bulbs are the new "in" thing, but I've read otherwise. Okay...

So, are 10000K bulbs really inefficient for plant growth, or are they alright ? Should I replace the 3 day old bulbs immediately, or should I use them for 2-3 months ?
 
10K is fine for plant growth. Its the high end of the "best Kelvin rating for plants" spectrum. Some people don't like the color it puts out, so they stick to something around 6K, but if the color doesn't bother you, I'd go ahead and use those bulbs.
 
I have 4 96-watt 6700k CF's over my 125 and am actually considering switching out two of them for 9000k or 10,000k to give a little more of a crisp color spectrum. The 6700k's are perfect for plants, but I would prefer a little less yellow tint.
 
I have 10,000 HQI and my plants love it, so I wouldn't change a thing~
 
it's not so much the K rating but more what spectrum of light you are offering.

you can find 10k 50/50 daylight and this is beneficia..I am trying a mix of 50/50 and trichromatic vho'so far the plants love it..210 watts over 75 gallons with CO2 injected and the anacharis/elodea/egeria love it..I have never seen this so green and full
the swords are sending runners..the vals are recovering water sprtie and wisteria growing like crazy..the cardinal plants are getting established as are the others.
