Had one of these on saltwaterfish for my 6 gal SW tank, and it helped a lot!

    Ok, DAY 1.

Set up Aquarium on its stand, set up a 4" deep sand bed with play sand, filtered sand so the really fine junk was gone, Aquascaped, filled with water, Installed lighting.

I added some chemicals to the water, but I forget exactly what they all were.... I know one was plant gro or something.... I'll edit tis tomorrow when I check.

Made and revised stock list. here's what I have now:
    5 Kuli Loaches
    1 Pearl Gourami
    2 Clown plecos
    5 Congo tetras
    5 African dawrf frogs
    2 wood shrimp.

I have a good idea of where to go from here, but tell me if theres something unusual that I might forget. Thanks very much!

that sounds like ALOT of sand. i have a 2½ inch sand bed, and my tank is 4 inches taller than yours.

congo tetras will not be comfortable in your tank. they really need a 55 gallon tank. try some smaller tetras such as lemons, red eyes, or rummynoses.

ADF's may have trouble getting to the surface in your tank.

    What jm said is true.

the clowns will grow to 11'', possibly 16''-slowly, granted, but they are too large for your tank. Wood shrimp should only be put into an established tank, really.

Good luck! Getting a new tank is so exciting :)

    Lol... waddup?

man, I meant to put ACF's...

I actually looked at lemon tetras, that'd be no problem at all...

Ok... I'm scrapping this list and beginning again!
    NEW LIST:
    1 pearl gourami.
    12 neon tetras
    4 peppered Cories
    4 rummy nosed tetras
    5 blue danios.
5 African CLAWED frogs. Not dawrf
    4 ghost shrimp.

...Is this too much? That's what I'm worried about. Also, it's going to make a huge difference what fish they have at the pet store, because my mom said she'd order the frogs and the shrimp and maybe one kind of fish, but other then that, I have to go to petco...

The ACFs will eat everything else in the tank besides perhaps the gouramis, and will at least kill the gourami. decrease the neon tetras and add in a rummy nose. I would suggest getting rid of one or two of the schools and upping the remaining one or two. Increase the peppered cories to 5.

with a tank that is "only" 29 gallons, it is better to go with one big school rather than two little ones. i liked the 12 neon school with the gourami and the corydoras. the blues would give a nice contrast to the orange in the gourami.

    so i say:
    1 pearl gourami
    8-10 neons
    5 peppered corydoras
    4 or more shrimp
