Lots of bunched plants come with lead weights to keep them anchored. Is there any danger from the lead?

What do you mean safe? Safe for what? Do you plan on bitting into one?

Sorry, just kidding. Those weights are not truely all lead, it is lead and something. Lead does not desolve well in High PH, but will in low PH.

But I would not leave them on the plants anyway. They sell them with it attached, but are not good for plants--Keeps them too close, so the plants rot.

I agree with removing them from the plants. But they do not cause any harm to the fish. I have used them for years as weights to hold veggies down to feed my plecos.

Thank you both. I generally remove them too, but every now and then something just wants to pull up and float.
