When I called Lowes they said they only cut glass they sell, but when I wandered in 20 min before closing with the lid in hand, they sliced an inch off the back for me for nothing. So now there's some air opening and room for the little HOB. Betta is happier now with a little more space :)

From what I've experienced, BLowes is really good with customer service. I'm not surprised they did this for you. I don't care for big box stores, but you don't really have a choice most times.
