You should try some combination of these: Otocinclus catfish (No more than 5 for your tank), corydoras catfish (3 of the smaller species should do), ghost shrimp (almost no bioload so you can get quite a few), an american flag fish or 2 (they like algae), snails (like common pond snails, malaysian trumpet snails and others), cherry shrimp (same deal as the ghost shrimp, just make sure you don't have anyone that will eat them).......that's all I can think of right now. I'm sure someone else will chime in with more suggestions.
