Help me ID this Pleco? or catfish

    Hi, my brother just picked up this "pleco" from the LFS.

    I have never seen one of these before. It has wiskers, bony plates, and "spines" that run down the sides of its body.

    Can anyone id this thing? I know its not a common pleco.
