How to quarantine a snail

as the title says, how does one quarantine a snail? in this case i got myself a nerite snail to help me with my algae/diatom problem.

Already have 1 ramshorn snail and do not want another bloom of ramshorn.

I'll just keep the new nerite separately but what should i watch for and what should i feed it in the meantime?

In my very limited experience, my 1 time nerites snail didn't eat anything I offered...maybe a tiny bit of diatom grazing but not enough to keep it alive...sniffle, I went on vacation soon after & came home to death & destruction...1 of my most distressing vacations ever!

So what kind is your snail? You can QT them just like any other fish or animal...but it's harder to tell if it may be healthy...or not...dropping dead is a bad sign...but even that can be difficult to tell with snails...
