It seems that Marineland is now recalling all stealth heaters wattages 25-250 and stealth pro heaters 25-300 watts. They are being recalled due to safety reasons ranging from overheating to fires and broken glass.

Here is a link to a Marineland page with a link to the current update: http://www.marinelandheaterrecall.com/

Now I gotta figure out how to heat my four tanks that use the affected heaters.

Where do I take them for the recall?

I tried to take my 50w to Petsmart and they told me it wasn't part of the recall. Has that changed now?

The 50W wasn't part of the Petsmart original voluntary recall for Stealth Pro heaters a few months back.

This is a new recall, on every single model of Stealth and Stealth Pro heater, 25W and up, issued by United Pet Group (Marineland's parent corp).

I'd try Petsmart again just because it's quicker and easier, but if they won't take it, contact UPG directly at 800-338-4896 between 7:30AM - 5:30PM EST Monday - Friday and they will take care of it, though they don't mention how in the letter I received.

are all affected, or are the older ones okay.

im just wondering if they are recalling all for safety, or if the older ones were having problems too.
