Since you have it, I would try it, but it's essentially a fw light. The overall color may not be visually appealing for corals, and at 8w it may not be strong enough to grow much in a pico reef. Even for LEDs, 8w is pretty low. The LED fixtures for pico reefs that I've seen tend to have at least 2x the wattage worth of LEDs.
