picked up a betta

Wandered through my favorite store earlier. You never know what they will cram where. I didn't like any of the veil tail males and the female tank was marked quarantine but stuffed in a tank of emperor tetras and hillstream loaches was this female for $3. I decided to get her.

A beauty. What's your plans for this one?

I'm making a few planted 10gallons of anabantoids when I work out my water source situation. I'd like to breed HMPk bettas eventually but it's a bad time of year to ship fish here so I can't start that until about march.

She's turned an overall dark blue already. I will have to see if I can get a new pic of her around her now existing tank decorations and I haven't put an led in that little temporary tank yet so there is no direct light.

Betta number 2. I intended to go to petco to get the rest of my planned 10g tanks during the sale. I walked past the bettas. Why did I walk past the bettas? I just stuck this guy in a quick tank setup. I'm still deciding substrate for my planted 10 gallons.
