Even if Barr uses an open overflow (which I found he did use a sealed overflow box on one setup) and an open sump, he is a WIZARD and I would never try to make things harder on myself by trying to do anything comparative to him. ;) I have a hard enough time with the tried and true methods. lol

Went to some other chain stores cause I needed to kill some time in between errands today. All but like 6 tanks at Petco were being treated and not for sale. Overall they looked good though, lol. At a different petsmart then I just went to, 2 tanks were just a pile of dead and dying fish! Plus a 3rd with a small pile starting. Every other tank looks great though, so weird!

Weird. Petco is usually much less interested in their animals' welfare. I once asked if I could buy a fish from one of their tanks, and the woman I was talking to said it was in treatment. I asked why, and she proceeded to tell me that she didn't know and didn't care because "they're just stupid fish." Haven't given them any real business since. Drives me crazy when people act like that.

Going to stick with the 58g but going high tech planted! Figure I'll give it a shot, if it doesn't work out I can still go back to my safe 40 breeder. :D Oddly going planted is going to cost more than FOWLR and I even have so much of the needed equipment already lol. I'll get a journal up soon.
