Mafia #6.....The Play

here is my theory on "invisible" thread viewing. in mafia four (my first time playing) i was parked on the thread looking for clues. while i was parked there:
the phone rang
my wife yelled at me
the dog barked
yada yada yada
an hour later, frustrated i close the thread. i make no post because i havent read anything so can't add anything. soon it is reported to the room i watched the thread for an hour then left without posting. people are suspicious of me because of this and that sucpicion never goes away. i am later shown to be innocent when the townies win the battle for there freedom. its a terrible reason to lynch somebody on its own, but added to a larger body of evidence it becomes, in my eyes, far more important. speaking of mafia four, i'm reminded of mad's role playing ill try to quote it best as i can remember. it has absolutely nothing to do with this case but i thought it was a hoot at the time and maybe others will now

Madcrawdad- Madcrawdad tenderly dusts his Good Citizenship Award, folds the rag and is carefully placing it in the drawer beside his boy scout medals when the clock strikes 5:30. Better hurry if he's gonna make it to the church by 6...

dwarf just so you know, in the 1000 posts you didn't read there are 1000 clues as to who is mafia. don't worry about having to read them all, kick back and relax, watch us rip each other apart, threaten to quit every now and again and your plan will work. you don't need to read them anyway. you already know what we're all trying to find out from those 1000 posts. i chuckle to think mike actually hit gold with his unusal method of looking for mafia. remember "pmgate". (watch her disappear again. the don told her not to talk about it im sure) when i believed mike was mafia, i actually started to believe you were innocent because he picked you. sorry again mike i should never have doubted you. another mulligan.

Charlie begins to wonder if he is alone. He thinks he may have an ally in zsandman but isn't certain. Charlie believes Swayde and Z are innocent. So is the Doc. That makes four. Four is an alliance and Charlie begins to think that all is not lost. They have seven. Charlie has four. Outnumbered, confused and hungry he looks to the sky for answers. He has to put his faith in the Doc for his plan to work. This wildcard Doc has to believe and has to do the right thing. Protect the right person. The Doc has a difficult job to do. And so does Charlie...

Here's what I was able to dig up on KOTD, not much there, but he hasn't posted all that much...

Firstly, clarifies not to expect a lot of posts from him and then goes on to give a list of people he's suspicious of. Ice and Coler are named as good players not to be trusted, until proven innocent. Fine, but where are Ogre, JohnLarson, and a few others on his list? IMO opinion these guys are also good players that need watching....why are they missing from his list?

this is going to be a LONG game..i may not be able to post much this game...i have a very busy schedule for the next 2 weeks..

i think the mafia..except for mike..is trying to .."blend in"..last few games its been pretty easy to spot them for their defensive behavior..i think its possible they may try to use their best townie impressions to fool us..we need to keep a sharp eye

Here he claims to be a little confused....must be where he decides not to vote. Keep in mind that RB said everyone MUST vote, even if your vote is cast to lynch 'nobody.' If you vote for 'nobody' though, you're not really putting your neck out....if you choose not to vote at all, though, you're not putting your neck out AND there's a good chance that no one will see.

hmm..its getting harder and harder to pick out a list..im not to comfortable with voting for JM or mike..

Here he says, 'Adios, Coler' and explains he's still a little confused. Goes on to name folks that need to be watched because they're all good liars. Keep in mind that I've NEVER been mafia in any game, so have never needed to lie, and I'm pretty sure that Z has always been innocent to date as well. How does he know we're good liars? Been talking to our parents, King?

Here he explains why he didn't vote. Keep in mind that on night's 1 and 2, Mike and Madcrawdad were the only two trains in the station. A 'no-vote' for Mike equals a 'yes-vote' for Madcrawdad, and once again I feel that the mafia would prefer me gone over Mike.

i didn't vote day one because no one really was on my radar..everyone was voting for mike and i didn't get any mafia vibes from him..just newbie mistakes

This is where it maybe gets interesting? Nick explains that he needs to know Mike's status (mafia or innocent) and lynching him is the only way to find out. King comes back with 'Mike could be detective or mayor...' Subtly defending MND? I don't know. Keep in mind though, King shortly thereafter goes on to vote for Mike when it looks like that train is the one that's going to be heading out.

Hmmmm....Miken....I need to find out what he is after all the debate....only one way:

I vote to lynch Miken

what if he is an innocent? or the detective..or mayor?

you want to lynch him ..just for the sake of knowing what he is?

Now here's an earlier quote from Hooked Newbie. In it, HN basically says that he needs to know Madcrawdad's status (mafia or innocent). Looks like he's willing to lynch me just to find out. King never says, 'Dude, Mad could be detective or mayor.' Keep in mind that this point may be pretty weak, but I really believe that the mafia would much prefer me gone over Mike, so King's silence here may be telling.

As I said, Mad's identity (if we find it out) will be crucial. If he's Mafia then I think we have a read on the others. If he's innocent (which I doubt), we've either been manipulated or need to look at the other twosome. If a large group of votes is cast for one person to save Mad, then they will be suspected as well.

As mentioned earlier, King goes on to vote for Mike....the whistle on that train's starting to blow now.

Denying that he's mafia after the snitch's list. No biggie, I would expect everyone to deny being mafia. Three are probably right. Goes onto say the old 'Lynch me if you want, I'm innocent.'

lynch me if you want...wont really help the town much..unless my death somehow shows you guys who the mafia is on the list..

i have also explained why i did not vote on night one..it's a random vote..but i like to be at least a little accurate..and no one was screaming mafia at me..i voted for mike on night 2 due to the fact that he was acting like mafia..then he wanted to take himself out of the game..i saw that as a cowardly mafia tactic..so..lynch me if you want..all i can say is good luck my fellow townies.

Only thing of interest here is that he suspects me as mafia based on the snitch's list. I've already mentioned that if I were mafia, it would be a really goofy strategy to hit the first person who named me, then hit another person who strongly named me, and then have the snitch name me. People who choose to ignore this, really make me wonder.

i've already stated why i will be less vocal this game...if i have time..i post..if i have no time..i dont post.

question..how was CL lynched?..have we not figured that out yet?..4 innocents in one night...crazy

and the snitch list..i'd say mad was my top suspect after that..

That's pretty much what I found. Maybe a little weak, I know, but King's game has been really weak, too. Not only has he not come out and really fingered anyone, but his not voting on night 1, makes me wonder. King was the other name that I said I was suspicious of before the snitch's list. Mainly for the fact I noticed him come to MND's defense when Nick wanted to lynch him to find out MND's status, but he was quiet when HN said the same thing about me.

I'm very comfortable voting for DP, at this point also. That's at least the second time he has expressed disinterest in this game. And only Mafia would be so careless as to not have read 1000 posts. It slaps in the face to think that I stayed up a lot later than usual to try and make heads and tails of everything. My head is still swimming, but I'm going with my gut instinct on someone who's been on my radar all along. I vote to lynch Dwarf Puffer.

Unless a good case can be made for a more prominent Mafia member, my vote will stay.

Glad you enjoyed reading that quote as much as I enjoyed typing it. Actually it was more of an argument against roleplay, but whatever.

As far a good citizenship awards coming to an end, feel free to lynch at any time...not only will I get another award, probably get that statue that everyone always talks about before being lynched, too.

I am not sure. I do not understand signing up for this game and not wanting to play. I am glad there are so many posts. To my surprise, there has not been a bunch or role playing, but still lots of posts. I think we have good quality posts.

My vote still stays.
