I would agree with DP except for one thing. Aside from his lack of participation, he's not really much of a threat or a help. If he is innocent, we lose another one. If he's mafia, great but I feel there are more likely choices. I agree, if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem, but I don't know that we gain too much regardless of the result. Its not like we're left with a ton of posts to go back and scour for clues...

"absence of evidence does not mean evidence of absence" can mean several things

1) because a player is innocent, that does not imply that his mafia list is accurate

2) the inability to provide the counter arguement does not mean that the arguement is true
-- i.e. If I say the sky is red and you say the sky is green. We go outside and it's night, then neither of our arguments can be claimed to be true or false

Both situations apply here. It is a common debating tactic to, instead of providing evidence for your arguement, attack the opponent's arguement. Something to keep in mind for later games.

I used this tactic a great deal when I was mafia, but I'm trying to provide evidence instead of just attacking others.

Seeing as last time I checked this thread it wasn't even 2 pages, and now it's almost 33, I skipped from 6 to this.

Really though, the only one who emailed me about the game was Rbishop. That's how I knew it had started . Rb, are people allowed to lie like that? With the whole "omg DP PMed me" thing? I mean SURE, goof around roll-playing and basically point you're finger at them, but to lie about forbidden (in the game) private messages? That's a little too much, IMO.

Actually, in game 2 I was very loud and boisterous, mainly for the fun of being Cousin Pete. Sadly, there's no train conducter or coffee shop or getting drunk any more... The whole role-playing thing has been discarded :cry:

Hmmmm, has anyone who is jumping on JM considering she juuuuust might have a LIFE? You know, a job, children, FISH, other things to contend with? It seems really stupid that Mike is wearing the "I'm Mafia and I love it" shirt, and everyone is saying "Hey, let's attack someone while they're out there in real life getting frustrated with their work because they can't go on AC", especially if they claim that she's just going to be booted out anyway. Anyone remember that the Mafia kill one of us a night?? That means wasting an excellant lynching chance on Mike and booting someone else for no apparent reason, plus losing an innocent from the Mafia. Seems like some people are a bit too suspicious, and giving factless excuses for them, to me.

Mafia accented roleplaying post.

Btw Mee-mee, I won't be drinking any more, caffeine is much better. Wakes me up, warms me up (where I live I get frozen toes), and helps my donuts & bagels go down. It also stops me from vomitting in my fish tanks , it feels strange not cleaning them of stomach contents every 20 minutes...

After several hours of having no alcohol, Cousin Pete's mind starts to pick up. He remembers what he ate last night for supper. He almost vomits. Tofu pancakes. Yeeeee-uck. After furiously scrubbing out his mouth with his old sock to ensure proper cleansliness, he smells something putrid. After marching around town for an hour investigating, he discovers the culprit: Cousin Pete. After a quick beating of the accused, Cousin Pete realises there is something he can do: take a bath. He runs over to Mee-mee's pastry shop, runs in, orders 5 cappucinos, 10 cream 20 sugar, steals some soap (or cookie doe... same thing) and runs to the bathroom and scrubs himself off, clothes and all. in the sink. All shiny (to him) and soaking wet, and takes his caffeine and strolls away to stain his teeth, happy that he was now a very intelligent man (to his understanding), and vowed to buy a new set of underclothes as son as possible.

DP does post A LOT in the forums, so that means they are reading posts elsewhere.

Shouldn't there be a rule that if the doctor protects someone from being lynched, he/she can't protect that person another night, unless it is a Mafia attack, and the same applies to she can't protect 2 Mafia hits?

Here is the infamous dropping out post. Doesn't want to read the posts. This indicates that they must not be any power role, but could possibly be Mafia. But they aren't helping the Town, that is certain.

Well, my vote stays on Mike, I'm not going to bother read any posts. I've read up to 23 and probably 10 pages mixed in, so 500 posts doesn't interest me.

Going to vote for Mike but not going to read any posts. Straight up revenge vote, no doubt about it.

I don't think the Mafia game really works with this many.... There are almost 1000 posts I haven't read...

Everyone else is reading them fine. I think this is a good number, it is still pretty slow most of the Day.

im with you 100% there, but am leaning more towards ice and Zsand rather than ice and mad.

Mad doesnt seem as powerful as z does, and doesnt seem to be trying to manipulate like z does.

I'm not sure of DP but DP said they were going to quit, and has twice said they skimmed over 1000 posts, yet they are still voting. That is either Mafia or someone that doesn't want to play, either way I think they should be granted their wish.

Alright folks, we need to settle down a bit. Something has spooked Ogre, but I still don't think he's mafia. It doesn't make sense him coming at me so strongly now if he were mafia. If he were mafia, he'd know that my lynch would end badly for the town and he would be left sitting out there looking pretty goofy. No knee-jerks, please....I would suggest waiting another day on an Ogre train.

Also, for folks voting for DP, please reconsider. If you really think he's mafia, by all means cast your vote that way. If you think that he could be an innocent, and you just want to get him out of the game because he said he might quit, think about the fact that we don't have the numbers to start tossing folks we think might be innocent. We really need to hit mafia soon, and being in a unique position of having the mafia come at me hard all 3 days, I can assure you that this town is in turmoil.

In his storyline, rb specifically says something to the effect 'Madcrawdad observes all and thinks that he needs to reread the posts and find the lies...' I was hoping that would allow us to move on somewhat, but obviously I was wrong.

I'm going to do some rereading and hopefully post some thoughts (assuming my argument holds up upon rereading) on an individual who I feel has been flying under most folks radar so far. I'll try to get it done by later in the afternoon to give folks time to think and talk about it this evening. I'm assuming that night falls at 5 am tomorrow, is that correct?

Well I want DP gone because it just seems they are playing a crummy game and it bugs the devil out of me when someone volunteers for a game and then ruins it for all by not playing along till the end. If RL gets in the way I understand, but lazyiness is not a valid excuse. Mad you have a point, I just did a run down on DP and I get more of a frustrated Roleplayer Innocent vibe than Mafia mastermind. I guess it is best for the town to vote for someone I really feel is Mafia. That would be either nickmcmehan, swayde, or Ice.

Sway I just don't think you're posts support the towns best interest, you seem counter to my thoughts on all fronts and our probable Mafia lists are polar opposites, that makes you very suspicious to me.

no, not on a crusade, i just feel that you are one of the "powerhouse" players and you could very easily manipulate people, as you did with the JM strategy....

I do still feel the same on you, however i do not have a strong enough case yet, and i wouldnt be able to get anyone to follow....
