And no, sushi is not raw fish. Raw fish is shashimi.

But you can have sushi with raw fish in it can't you? As in, rice with raw fish wrapped in seaweed.

All the fish I have ever seen in sushi is either pollack (which doesn't count), or is smoked. Which counts as cooked for the purposes of consumption. Mind you, there may be other places they offer the raw stuff, I'm rather limited on my little sandbar as to what I can get.

I tried a couple varities of sushi at my husband's insistance...I gagged on each one. I didn't like it at all and seriously doubt I'd ever try it again.

Vegetarian sushi is great. Rice, a small piece of seawead (which is just like lettuce), avocado, a little carrot... sometimes you can get mushrooms, but I don't like em.
