the leaves in the OP's picture look like all one leaf with deep clefts between the sections. the creeper leaves look like 5 separate leaves.
Agreed...but then again...that could just be because they are fake, and that's the way they are mass produced. It could have been trying to mimic the creeper. The veins in the plant are also less defined than they are in the creeper plant.
hmmm... is virginia creeper known to tolerate water, and brackish water at that?

You mean immersed brackish plants? Not shure whats available there. But there are a lot of true aquatics that will cope with light brackish, depends on how much salt your talking about. There is a long list that will tolerate up to about 1.005, after that the list grows short.
