Mafia #7 -- The Play

I got jumped all over for being defensive in my first game, so I stopped worrying about wild accusations with no proof. It's pretty pointless to try to argue when there is nothing there to begin with =) If I tell ya'll I am innocent, I will most likely get called a liar, so really I am damned if I do, damned if I don't and so I'd rather just pay attention to the details and see if I can catch anyone doing anything suspicious since the only person I can trust is myself and I know that I am most definitely not mafia.

Not much else to do/say at this point. I apparently inherited a convenience store to run, so less time I can spend with my goldfish pond =/ I would love an eclair, or a dozen from Mee-Mee's bakery =) If anyone needs a snack, gas, or even a Slurpee, feel free to stop by my S-Mart Convenience Store!

You made the observation and then in the same paragraph, did exactly that. Not calling you a liar, just making an observation. I'd love a slurpee though, I miss them. We don't have 7-11s down here.

The only good thing about how slow this game is so far is that it was pretty easy to catch up after work. This is the only post that really looked the least bit odd on first read, but I'm going to read back again. I'm curious about the "grouping of posts" that Z noted. If there is a closer parallel with timestamps taken into account, it could be a good start considering there's not much info out there yet.

Wow Charlie, reaching there...first post was pretty mcuh me thinking out loud, but you caught me I ended up staying up late because I couldn't sleep so therefore I slept-in instead...I already stated why I corrected Z, I wasn't being defensive, and he admitted to his mistake...with the whole number generator thing, jl votes for first roleplayer, why can't I have some fun with my first vote? I also stated it was a pretty dumb idea, but an idea nonetheless...

Swayde wakes up early after a long day of moving into a new town. She hurries to get ready to open the convenience store on the corner she recently purchased so she can meet the demands of the rush-to-work crowd. She hopes that business will be good enough that she can support her goldfish habit. She's heard about Mee-Mee's world famous eclairs and can't wait to try one.

There's not much to go on so far. I know it will most likely make me look suspicious, but I did warn ya'll in the sign-up thread that I will not be able to post nearly as much as I have in the past, nor at all hours of the day. I'm going to do my best though to help the town out. I'd hate to see all of my hard earned money from the store taken away by crooks aka mafia =)

This also struck me as strange. I know people do it in the sign up thread IN CASE they get the mafia role so they won't seem as suspicious when they don't post. But then to repeat it after roles are given out, its almost like posting I'm innocent don't lynch me.

I was thinking all day about the NEW and OLD mafia. When I ran my game nothing about the roles were random, I handpicked each and every person for what I thought would make a good game.

If Rb did the same then the NEW mafia could be players that haven't played as much, since none of us are really new.
These would include: Sway Joander Lady G Deputy Sploke as possible new mafia. With Sways "post" I'm throwing my suspicion that way and could be voting for her today.

OLD mafia could be the people that have played in all of the games or most of them. That list would include KOTD DD Charlie Mad Mee mee. They have played in almost every game. DD is one that I wouldn't mind voting for either. While she barely helps the town out with lists and observations she always seems to stick around. Plus when she has been mafia she has been really good at it. I don't feel comfortable keeping her around. If she was known to help, like Mad, I wouldn't have any qualms with keeping her.

Whats your guys thoughts? Am I reaching or do you think this idea has some substance?
Even if the idea is a little left field what about we discuss Sway and DD? How do you feel about the way they play? Are they assets to us?

Ice looks at his schedule, he sees that he has a black tie affair coming up with the NFL commissioner, he looks at his Tuxedo and decides it needs to go to the dry cleaners. Can't get a team when we aren't putting out our best impression. Ice hopes that the town gets the mafia problem taken care of before the meeting. Don't think the NFL wants the mafia controlling the football revenue.

Well since there is so much suspicion but no body is manning up to throw a vote that way I guess I'll start, but dammit don't go holding it over my head if we're wrong.

Or maybe because there aren't many posts made yet...I haven't seen anyone lurking for 2-3 hours without a single post and then have them abruptly disappear when I call them out on it like DP did. And maybe because, correct me if I am wrong, but there are 9 innocents, 8 mafia and we lose if we get tied with the mafia so a lynching of an innocent on the first night and a hit on an innocent on the first night could actually end the game, so I want to feel as sure as possible as I can to vote on someone.

I meant to say we lose if the mafia outnumber us, which is VERY possible if we lynch an Innocent, and the Mafia hits an Innocent.

I don't think that's how the game works...last game we started out half and half but with two rebel teams so they can't really control the lynching. I think it is when the one mafia team left is tied with the innocents.
