Cooling the tank on a budget

You should be able to find the fans at Target, Walmart, etc.

Some fish can indeed do OK with temps going up in the 80s. In my opinion keep it below 86, some will say not that high but I believe in keeping a wider range of temp..just no fast changes.

This one girl I know does a lot of planting and her mom accidently kills a lot of plants. She had one plant her mom was taking care of that was dying, and she talked to it for about 20 min. and over the next week it got healthy again. Maybe if I talk to the fish they'll thrive at 84. LOL :headbang2:

Ah...I still remember the day I saw my first peanut worm and freaked thinking some creature from the deep was going to eat everything in my tank and then crawl out and get me.
LOL, I was worried about getting some bad worms, but sounds like the bad ones are not seen real often.

Most are good. I love those little peanut worms now. And if you had told me a worm (my featherduster) would be one of my favorite things in the tank months ago I'd have laughed.

Speaking of freaky worm hitch hikers though..check out the one this reefer found: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1195391

Thats a cool looking worm. Also, I love the featherdusters, those a so cool. I'd like to get one once my tank is finished.

We should all find a solution against global warming together.

Just kidding.

Quick question.

Blowing a fan over your surface, how much does that really help the temp in terms of degrees? I live on relatively cooler area, so heat is not TOO big of a problem, but I did see my tank shoot up to 86 at one point this summer... Makes me wonder if it will only get worse in the years to come.
