I always have trouble deciding whether to go with black gravel, or the natural brown gravel!
Everybody post pics of their tank that has the black or the natural!
Maybe it can help people (AND ME) decide all the time!

I dont have a readily availible pic right now, but I personally prefer black gravel, but it depedns on the fish. If you have dark fish, you may want to go with a lighter, natural gravel or if the fish are brightly colored, go with the black because the fish will show up well

I dont have a problem with seeing waste, then again, my filter is strong

I have a black and white/natural mix with a little bit of rainbow gravel. I started with the rainbow but I didn't like the look so I added some different colors. I'll get a picture soon.

the black gravel i had unfortunately started to show white spots on them as if the color was rubbing off. you would see whitish/grey on the edges of the pieces of gravel. that was estes stuff too.
i use either black sand, white sand, or white gravel on all of my tanks. natural mixed color gravel always made me gag (not literally).

I always say my next tank is gonna have black gravel, but I always end up buying the natural stuff...

i have a rubbermaid bin, probably about 30 gallons, full of natural colored gravel. it was stuff i got that came inside the tanks i bought at garage sales. despite having all of that, i still shell out money to get black or white sand or white gravel.
the only way i would use the natural crap is if i found the right shade of teal/blue to paint the back of an aquarium and grew a field of dwarf hairgrass.

I have 1 tank with black and one natural I depends on how you are going to accent the tank and what type of fish are going into the tank.

I give my black gravel an 8 out of 10.

Color of my fish is tremendous.

But!
The poop is just as vibrant on the gravel as the color on the fish... : /
