Mafia #14 -- The Play

The Accident…this person starts the game without knowing what side they are playing for. They will be told whose side they are on after the second game day nightfall. If the pre-chosen player is designated mafia, that mafia team can expect to add a member. You cannot reveal you were the accident person to anyone.

I think it will come out that Charlie was the Accident once the game is over. This could have saved us a future mafia member. I am not sure when rbishop would have determined the persons role, but the player had no idea.

This is the only reasonable excuse for Charlie playing so badly.

Wow OK I have finally caught up with todays postings and went over HN posts from yesterday and today.. If he was hit because he was onto something then this is what I saw..

HN(RIP Innocent Townie Friend) really was on Charlie (RIP Innocent Townie Friend) and the Judge.. Those were the two who he really was applying the screw gun to... so to speak. He did question Lady G on her "questionable" postings and had a few exchanges with Blue questioning her on some of her posts. But by and large he concentrated his efforts of the first two people. Today he wasn't real pressing as I feel he was convinced (as we all were) that his vote was in the right place. In fact I think he even stated that once or twice.

So if we follow this train of thought that DJMajor was a diversion could it necessarily be assumed that he was a diversion for the Day 1 vote (which we now know had to be false because we lost two townies) but can we theorize that it might be a diversion for the Day 2 vote because he was close?

Some of you have posted that you thought that HN's list consisted of the following and I think I have listed them in the order of his concern. If you really look at his messages and who he was pressing to get their mafia vibe this is it. Or am I completely off base here?

While I have been in two games realistically I only have IRL about 4 days worth of play under my belt so I really am technically a newbie at this myself. With my vote and suspicions cast for Charlie yesterday I am going to take more of a questioning role over the next game day because while I thought I knew how to play I'm starting to feel like a horses rear.

Why would charlie play badly if he didn't know he was the accident? He wouldn't know until after the second night.

Personally, I don't think rb would tell the player they were the accident. Wouldn't it just make more sense to tell them on the second game day? OK maybe not... maybe you guys have something. I hate the weird roles.

OK, my current most possible list is LadyG and Dwarf Puffers.

I vote to lynch LadyG purely as a defensive measure to keep an instant train forming on Dwarf Puffer. This will most assuredly change... probably.

I have a kid in the bath, I may be able to do an analysis tonight. If not, then tomorrow during 3rd period (all the seniors are going to the renaissance festival so I have that period off tomorrow)... grading papers... who needs grades?

If anything, there are votes on DJmajor. I think the majority of people expect DP to lose interest and die an UD.

As far as DJmajor goes, what do you think of their slip? Any thoughts on DJmajor?

The way I read it was if the Accident was predesignated as mafia they basically wouldn't know which side they were on until night 2. So they would be mafia but without the aid of being able to chat with their team because they wouldn't know who that team was..

Yeah, sorry. That should be DJ. Too many shortened names. I've updated my spreadsheet.

DP has already voted, so he won't be a UD even if he doesn't make another post during this day.

DJ was a major slip up, but the whole mafia sacrifice thing is out the window now. So was it a slip or a newbie goof. I think a lot of people really jumped on him way too early today.

I've started voting earlier than I used to, but it's been about 3 hours since the beginning of the day and there are already three votes for DJ. It just makes me nervous.

Is it though? Did you read my post? You are right the people jumping on him right now is making me really nervous.. I mean the whistles are blowing loud in my ears. So thats why I am trying to look at the less obvious and see if HN was onto something and why I put out that question. What are your thoughts?

I do not think until the "slip" that HN was on DJmajor. I think he also was the first to point out it could be suspicous and a way to get votes off of Charlie.

I also do not want to stay to focused on DJ or DP, while I think they could be mafia, it could just be game play. I need to keep an open mind.

Judgemax is a good canidate, it is a hard read at times. She also seems to get very narrow minded and one tracked.

Lady G is sure good at keeping everyone confused, but this game she has been better at just not typing stuff.

I also want to point out, that most of us were very sure of Charlie's guilt. If anything, this has me a little concerned about DP and DJ. They both seem guilty, almost too guilty. My vote on DJ stands and I would like to see them reply. I did not see an explaination to the whole "hit" slip.

I want to see how DJmajor acts when there is some heat on. I guess this is my attempt in "kicking weasels".

Speak up DJmajor, what do you have to say for yourself, my hairy friend (for charlie). Who is your Don, who are you going to hit next? Are your teamates mad at you for slipping. You know in the mafia, a slip of the tongue and you wind up in deep shhhhh, well you get the idea. You might want to confess before they hit you! They are allowed to hit their own.
