DD- I tried to quote the whole thing, but it was a nested quote in quote mess so I stuck to the last and will try to explain how I see the Brains thing. At first it wasn't a big deal at all. Notice that I didn't even mention it for quite awhile. I figured that for some reason he wanted to stay anonymous (maybe he and mee-mee) aren't on the same team, maybe Rb told him to do it to help the game, etc. Remember "Bala looks at the first 80 posts and chuckles"? It wasn't until he tried to deny it and start casting suspicions that it made him look guilty to me. As of right now, Ogre and Brains are my top 2 followed by those that voted on Brains BEFORE he defended simply because they didn't know who he was. If that logic were applied no newbies would ever make it past day 1. The people pointing only to the act of trying to be anonymous were the one's I was questioning about jumping on him.

i think we are thinking similarly. It was not until after his denial of Ice's discovery that he begn to look really scummy. Particularly when he tried to imply Ice had made it up. Not a very pro-town desicion.

I think what we can look for at this point is distancing from the mafia and possibly townies who can communicate. It is too early for mafia to go for block votes, so voting patters somewhat interest me less unless they are linked with 'analysis' or arguments.

This is a very rough summary of the thread :

My best mafia suspectsmight also include Plantling at this point. There are I understand no town power roles so no reason for townies to be trying to hide in the background and Plantlings posting so far has really contributed nothing.

However I have no vote at this time.

I've never been really chatty in all these games, but why did Coler single me out when 9 others, half the population, had posted even less than I had? Could it be that I already had one vote on me by Z and this was set up in case he needed to vote me later?

Also this is his first of only two posts so far and while it seems helpful, I believe the distancing stuff and "possible teams" is a lot of bs. It may be his way of trying to tie who he thinks is innocent to a mafium, though.

Less than 40 posts and charlie has already switched votes once... hey, I only have so much room in the spreadsheet.

The most suspicious thing so far is... Ice. 50/50 shot sounds good to me.

Zsand, I'm not worried about, I think I can tell when he's mafia. Ice, isn't so hot as a townie, so no huge loss

BTW: I think we should be watching VERY carefully for subtle hints. The unknown mafia are going to want to try and tell the known mafia who they are so they don't get lynched. The kind of action like above is something that should be watched very closely.

Here, he makes note of my vote change from Ice to CC. He even quotes the post where i change it. This will have signifigance later.
He says he isn't worried about ZS, he can tell when he's a townie. Maybe he can, but ZS hasn't even posted at this point. He then says if Ice is a townie, no big deal he's not a good one. I guess he thinks we've got townies to spare.

You are right, any townie is a big loss. But the game cannot be won for four days no matter what happens.

I never said that Z was innocent... be careful putting words in other peoples mouths (that's a mafia thing).

I said that I believe that I can tell when he is playing innocent and playing mafia. My statement about Ice was made at the time when there were already two votes for Ice.

As soon as I made that post, charlie left Ice and went to CCM.

At this point we have 8 voters and 7 votees... the town has got to get together. Sure tonight is partially random, but it's a 50/50 shot.

I think everyone is acting crazy right now.

No one except Coler has really discussed the team/unknowns dynamic of the game so far. IMO, the teams will really be standing out and the unknowns will be hanging back trying to figure out who to vote for.

I think it should be pretty obvious that the teams will try not to vote for the same people in order to disguise their team so I look at followers in this game as people who either have really good reasons or are thinking that the person they are following is of the same team they are.

At this point, I vote to lynch Ice for confusing the issue, doing multiple things he said he would not do, and just because he's mafia. My second top pick would be DD.

Now he votes Ice. His reasons:

OK, Ice, this is why I use different colors. I get that the things I thought you said were said by someone else. You just messed up the quoting. So you might want to make it clear were you start and someone else ends.

Now explain real carefully how exactly this proves the post was edited.

Here he still refuses to believe the post was edited. At this point, aside from Weezer, he may be the only one in town that thinks this charade might actually be working.

After having it sort of explained, now I understand. And, no, I didn't get it at first. It really would have helped to have some explanation.

However, this still does not automatically clear Ice.

Now that the obvious has been explained, and there is no water for the seed of doubt he tried to plant, he gets it. Bravo!!!

With 20/20 hindsight, it's relatively easy too see what Ice is talking about. His post on the subject was just a 'here this clears everything up' and it really didn't too me. Now that I understand that his entire post, except for some part of the end (where the post stops and where Ice begins stillhasn't been explained), I can see what Ice was trying to say.


Ice, to answer your question, you said that it was too early to vote, you voted pretty early. Since you were quoting another post, you are not just voting for someone whom you don't know. That's my bad.

From Ogres posts he definitely looks mafia.

I just don't want anyone to forget Brains. The more I think about it the more I'm convinced. Just as Ogre is anti town attitude towards me I see the same with Brains.

I caught him, all he had to do was admit it. But he wants to go implying I'm lying to the town. If thats not anti town then nothing is.

I'm keeping my vote on Ogre, just don't want the town to forget about Brains. I think whichever goes doesn't really matter as they are both mafia IMO.

LOL Chaz. With such a compelling case and also because I've been having a bad nagging feeling about Ogre since his flippant attitude about losing a townie that's not so "hot", I vote to lynch Ogre.

Blue, is looking most mafia to me at this point...mainly for this reason right here. She obviously used her Mod "power" to come up with this and post it to everyone. If Rb wanted Brains to remain unknown, she shouldn't go and use her mod"ness" to let everyone know.

It really bothers me when Mods play the game and do this...they shouldn't do or show anything that we can't do.

It could of been asked of Rb and he could have posted "brains is a unknown" or "brains is Weezer" or whatever he wanted, but she took it upon herself to find out and let others know her findings.

That is the one thing that I hated when Rb played (sorry Rb) but when ppl are logged in invisible. He would point out when they were on but not posting.

I'm not saying that I think brains is innocent or mafia, I'm not really sure at this point. I also really think Rb did this because of the whole MM, Weezer connection.

yes. if you edit very soon after the original post it will not show as an edited post. I'll admit to having done this and then stated the edit to allay suspicion. however a player in a previous game (plantling I think) correctly pointed out that this was in fact in breach of the rules.

I wanted to go back and pull Colers post. At this point the post about Weezer/Brains had come out but Coler had no opinion on it at all?

I have to say I thought it was odd but that weezer was posting in the thread and not being deleted but that was as far as it went - I didn't register weezer as brains until re-reading the thread today.

Don't know what it means. Weezer = clearly brains for some reason, and apparently brains was told to remain anonymous. It could as likely be an innocent-friendly game stunt by rb as a mafia-friendly one.
