Quick question for you. I have a green severum, an anglefish, and a pearl gourami. They get along great. But I have a 55gal tank and I want another fish. I like the single fish style, and I like medium to large sized fish. What type of fish could go in there that wont mess stuff up? Thanks alot!

you'll have to move everything around if you add anything, especially a cichlid, at this point. youve got two established cichlids and a gourami that probably wont be willing to have its space invaded either.

if you were to move everything around to mix up the territories, you could probably add a festivum

Thanks

Hey, thanks alot but I want to stick with one single fish of each species. What do you think about a Brasiliensis Chiclid, Uaru,Frontosa, or Knifefish? Well those are just some I found. Thanks alot for the input.

Frontosas are too big for a 55g especially when you want more females than males. The Geophagus brasiliensis will work in a pair. What knifefish are you talking about? There are several species available. The brown knifefish can reach 12 inches and probably no more than that. The Uaru is best kept in a 75g minimum.

No knifefish

I just got back from my LFS and the guy that worked there said no knifefish so i'm out of ideas it would be really great if anyone would post an idea even is your not sure. I can always do a little research. thanks a bunch:)

Why not stick with bichirs? You can always add a large South American cichlid along provided it does not have aggressive behavior that will result in brutal beating of the poor bichir.
