Mafia #20 - Pirates of the Carribean the Play

Although I wont deny our discussion of Spongebob, and squidward, you left out Sandy....Are you admitting you are Mafia here Lupie, cause that's what I got from that..and if you are LEAVE ME OUT OF IT!?
I'm not and I won't deny either, Lady G.:) My brain is like a sieve at times hence Sandy was not in my mind.

First, I like your analysis post...it was very good....but why did you pick me and only me to pull the profile pick for:eek:

Anyway the only reason I posted this was, well,

1) don't feel "dumb" many of the experienced players have done the same, several times.

2) He added his vote for ice in here, he quoted his before game vote and said it stands, so I am thinking it should count myself. Simply because he said he never knows when his connection will/will not work, and he did add it AFTER the start game post. Had he not added it to a prior post, then I could see it not counting.
My intent was to make the vote stand. I basically had three options. A) Don't vote. This would not have accomplished my "make sure you don't UD" goal, so I didn't even contemplate it. B) Keep the vote against Ice or C) Change the vote to someone else. Since if I changed my vote, people could make the accusation that in the PM I discovered he was on my team, and if I didn't they could make a similar accusation. I wanted to be consistant, less ability for people to "read" into it, when there was nothing there.

Could be!!

Well, if we knew who they were we would vote them. Also are you saying maybe you do know them, you said "you don't know who" instead of we..that made me kinda wonder.
Over all good thought, just wondering about your wording a little here.
I was writing with the "collective" you, trying to convince others (you) to join my viewpoint.

They can only talk once they find each other. So at this point only the Gov. and the Magistrate can talk. Also, it really stinks when someone post "I think I know something, but can't tell you posts"
I revealed my ideas in the post above...no longer hidden.

UMMMM, YIKES!!!:eek3:

Don't worry if Meems is evil, we will know....wont we Meems LOL!!!!

Done.

Anyways, people have accused me of being more inciteful then a "newbie" player should...so I'll address it.

I've never played a Mafia or Mafia-like game. I read threw Mafia 19 as well as a few google searches on the game to get a gist of the tactics and methods for play. I've always considered myself good at reading people. I'm also quite good a logic puzzles, which is what this game is with the people-piece.

An example of a logic puzzle: http://library.thinkquest.org/04oct/00723/puzzle_solving.htm

Hope that explains some things :)

Well, theres that OR you could be getting help...your posting style reminds me of someone...just not sure who yet?? I'm not yet ready to say I think your a pirate..but I don't know that I think you innocent either, time will tell I guess.

This was a quote, I copy/pasted from Lchap from post #283..it was inside a quote so I couldn't bring it over.Your C thoughts...What??? Are you saying you kept it the same at the time, b/c you didn't want others to think you received a pm saying Ice was on your team?? But not changing would have the same effect?? I understand being consistant, that I do...but you made my head hurt a little there and I want to make sure I understand you correctly.

Suspect what you will. I'll play the best I know how, and time WILL tell...and right now only I know which way...but I hope my actions will prove where my loyalties lie.

Alright, here's my quick notes from my overnight analysis without quotes:

Beth: She's jumping around, appeals to emotion, OMGUS vote, lots of "flip-flopping" with other players, though it could be just running with day 1 jokes...I know I've been jumping back and forth as well with the jokes and sarcasm, so I can't weigh that too heavily. She's also denying the obvious. I feel she's one to watch this game.

JL: Quick to jump on the "accuse Beth" bandwagon, but didn't actually place his vote there. Maybe he was just trying to keep the post-count up, maybe he was trying to do some misdirect...does something similar but lower-key against Ice in post 128.

Ice: He looks like he's having fun harrassing everyone. Can't really get a read on him, and haven't read any of his past games.

Madcrawdad: His first post jumps on the accuse-Beth bandwagon. Perhaps he's a pirate and they've chosen to accept Beth's loss right off the bat. Still, he hasn't added his vote against her.

HN: I don't know what to read from him. Lots of general banter and picking at random posts. I'll be watching him, hoping to get a better read.

MG: Can't say anything other's having said. He's voting without saying why, he alludes to a hidden reason, yet won't share it. Very suspicious.

JM: She's always trying to turn the attention back on me. I find it amusing and concerning, but then again, aren't I doing the same thing? Watch us, see who's helping, and who's just trying to get the attention off them.

DD: She does a quick slam on myself then goes on to quote and make a bigger deal out of beth, jumping on the accusing bandwagon. Still didn't lay a vote down though. She does some accusations of others as well.

Grin: An even smathering of everyone, accusations and questions all around. I like this, not jumping on anyone in particular, but not letting anyone go either.

LG: Completely ignored the Beth-bashing...and adds a bit to mine and HN's posts in her first couple posts. Finally on 244 she jumps on the pirate...I mean Beth bandwagon.

Here's what I think is going on, and what I was talking about earlier: All the pirates can talk, and I suspected the'd start a train and hope that the 5-7 of them could pull together enough opinion to make the rest of us suspect their accused and join them to "plank" an innocent, or a sacrifice. Right now they're not voting, but there is a bandwagon of accusations on one player particularly...A good majority of the players seem to be going after Beth.

I don't think everone going after Beth is a pirate, nor can I say if the accusations are based on Beth slipping about being a pirate, or just a case being made against an innocent...but I believe the bandwagon is the act of pirates. So far the players on the bandwagon are: JL, Madcrawdad, DD, then LG. I don't know if they're all pirates, but I strongly suspect from their actions that most of them are.

So, a random vote from the list, I vote to make Madcrawdad walk the plank

Ok, I found the post you said you cleared up the "mystery" in the other post. I think you do a good job in expressing your thoughts on the players. The thing is usually the "bad" team is not going to jump on the same person, that is way to obvious, they may get a train rolling...but they are not all going to vote the same person.

Honestly Lchap...I suspect everyone in the beginning as they post I lower or raise them in my mind. Really I have you slightly lower then others, I believe you are trying, and for the sake of the town I hope your loyalties do lie with the town...I have a feeling you may prove to be a tuff one to have against the town.

Oh, I wanted to add to that...I don't usually vote until a little later in the "day", I do not like switching my votes around...so I usually wait a while and see what all everyone says and vote who I think has posted the most scummiest. That is you to saying something about some who haven't voted yet, just to let you know my reason, it's just not something I do often unless something huge comes out against someone.

They have the distict advantage in this game...they may have chosen to capitalize on this, consolidating a handful of their votes (or accusations, in this case) to plank an innocent...

And I suspect everyone as well. Some have been raised, some lowered, but everyone is being watched.
