Mafia #20 - Pirates of the Carribean the Play

before I go, Grins, I explained that about JM, I never once protected her or meant to. I could have sworn you read my reasoning but whatever. Fact is, I haven't seen enough from JM to feel she is protect worthy in my opinion.

That was just wrong lol.

Led the charge on RBs lynch only to find out he is Guard 2s and got whacked by him.

Good luck guys

It was oh so wrong, but I can see why the pirates must have been howling over it. It would have to have been funny from aboard their ship..until the rest of their plans went haywire. I'm so glad you played this game Ice. I doubt I'd have figured out much of what I did without you being here in the thread.

good clean up guys, we got two pirates, the downside though, we are down the 2 guardsmen.... I do find it peculiar though how CL ended the guardsmen. Ice is dead and was the 1st Guardsman but RB was innocent and the 2nd guardsman. Was this posted this way because Ice was killed by the Guardsman?

Why is this your biggest concern? I kinda picked up on Bob possibly being the guard because of a couple of his posts and his past play when he was the bodyguard in a game and left a clue for the Doc (me) to protect the Pres (CL). I think he may have thought that Ice's mention of guard tactics "outted" him as a pirate and since he was being lynched, took his shot. That, or he did it for spite. To me that is pretty mot, but you casting possible confusion to the town looks awfully scummy to me. Are you and Blue grieving the loss of the other wench of the ship (JM)?

Well, we know what side Grins is on, lol

Yep..lol

Watchman- Good job! We lost two innocents and both guards, but 3 innocents would have really sucked!

Grins- What say you? I think there's finally someone in this blasted town that I can trust!
'
And I trust you....so far.

So glad Grins was saved. But sorry to lose our 2 guardsmen....

I told you JL was Pirate. And now we can go find the others...and my gut feeling was right about him also...
MeeMee, I did believe you.

/// Game Off

Thank you everyone for putting up with my email issues while on the road.. I really didn't want to hold off night for another day...

Again sorry for the issues.

/// Game On
Clown, sincerely no problem.

Here is my list...

MeeMee, please read 1058 for my thoughts

There were 2 guardsmen. Ice was the first and killed JM. Rb was the 2nd and killed Ice. Then the town lynched Rb.

I did see it, and I didn't challenge you on it then because I was warned so much in the first game about how clever you were. You showed that you were then too. Frankly although I feel I'm an equally intelligent woman I knew I was not up to the level you are with experience in this game and decided to not butt heads with you too much.

Maybe I'm wrong about you being a pirate, but now that I've decided to put everything on the table the others can help question you more and you'll not be able to twist my words on me.

So thats what tipped you off? Funny, for me it was the stuff I mentioned up above about a single post he made last night imploring us to look at Clown's directions and that seemed to show he was maybe a middle of the road player. In any event, I felt better about thinking you innocent when I saw you move your vote to JM.

Right now it stands that there are 5-7 pirates...worst case, 7
We've lost 3 innocents. Worst case we started with 9, so there are 6 left.
1 thief.

Best case scenario: 5 Pirates left
Innocents: 11-3.....8 left.
1 thief.

Other Scenario: 6 Pirates left
Innocents: 10-3....7 left
1 thief.
Running the numbers once again:
Worst Case
Pirates: Started: 7 Now: 5
Innocents: Started: 9 Now: 4
Thief: 1
Middle Case
Pirates: Started: 6 Now: 4
Innocents: Started: 10 Now: 5
Thief: 1
Best Case
Pirates: Started: 5 Now: 3
Innocents: Started: 11 Now: 6
Thief: 1

As I stated before, I believe we're looking at a middle/best case senario. We've got 6 known innocents, one living. We're 2 pirates down, and need 1 more for a win. Right now the Cooke has got 2 nights of protection left...IF the Watchman can protect the targetted innocent both these nights, we'll stay where we are. If he can't, we're going to take losses before we can draw more pirate blood.

Our best hope is to find and lynch the only non-protectable Pirate, and that's not going to be an easy task.

Under the worse-case senario, if the watchman chooses wrong one night, only the Magistrate's protection will save an innocent from lynching. Under the middle case, it'd take two wrong picks by the watchman and the thief siding with the pirates or staying neutral in the votes. Best case, even if the watchman fails to pick the pirate's hit accurately we'll stay ahead until Cooke's protection runs out.

So, we've got two things we've gotta do in the next couple nights: A) Find Blackbeard. B) Find the Pirate Target so the watchman can protect him.

I'm still wondering if the Magistrate's jail and slaughter trumps Cooke's protection or not...I'm working the above senarios under the assumption it doesn't, but if it does, it puts us back in the game without dragging this out.

Also just realized, there's 3-4 pirates left...and 3 Power-roles for pirates...That means all (or all but 1) of the pirates left are power-roles...

Well at this point if the people that have those roles haven't asked Clown they are sleeping on the job. Sadly that might be the case after seeing us lose both guards tonight. I'll not give the watchman too hard of a time as they obviously know the pirates well enough to know they'd think my being vocal meant something more than it did.

At this point LC, I'll share with you what I think will be most helpful as one fairly new person to another. The best thing we townies can do is probably stay calm and focus not on numbers but instead on specific behaviors and talk.

Take a look at who has gone after known innocents. Yes, some will have to be discounted because I myself was going hard after Rb for some time. But who started that? LG maybe she is the guilty one...I think she is at this point.

Take a a look at who known guilty people have been going after hard. The thing with the pirates is that they all know who one another are. They might admit that one of their own looks guilty but they'll probably not go after them hard but find some reason why they must place their vote elsewhere.

Don't expect all the votes of the guilty to be together. Last night is an example. See how JM's vote and JL's were placed on throw away votes? They didn't vote for the same people as the other pirates because they were wanting to create some distance so people didn't associate them as a collective group. And lucky for them the town was going after Rb who they knew was not a pirate. They had the confidence they could spread out their votes and an innocent would be lynched.

This is the point in the game where what seemed trivial the first day is more meaningful. Go back and review some of that and see what red flags exist now that didn't then.

Hope that helps if you're an innocent like I think. If you're a pirate, no harm in telling you as your friends on the ship would have already done so.
