Most the name slips were completely unintentional...I only did one of them on purpose, and only because it seemed like it would help my case some...and it did. I wasn't trying to play the "confused newbie". And as for the pronouns, as I said I default to the he...maybe I should put a disclaimer in my signature, kinda like the one that's at the beginning of all the Army training manuals about the use of pronouns to make them politically correct.
"I use the pronoun "HE" for continuity. If the person specifically referred to is a female, assume the she pronoun." Basically, I'm making "he" a gender-nonspecific pronoun...like "their" or "we".
