Mafia #23 Revenge

I would kind of like to know how you plan on doing this as well.. Since you brought it up and all.. As of this point we have 19 players out of those 19, 4 are on mafia teams leaving us 15 townies. Which gives us a little less than a 1 in 4 chance of hitting a mafia. (21.05% if you want me to be exact).

I personally plan to play like I always do which is to let day 1 be day 1 and then go back and see if I can see any trends etc from that day.

Firstly, by actually taking it seriously. Folks always like to have fun and goof around at the beginning, which is fine, as there's not much else to discuss early on. But when someone says 'Chill dude, Day 1 is just a throw-away,' I notice.

Chances are extremely high that an innocent will be lynched on Day 1. Not treating the day as 'irrelevant' is the best way to lower those chances.

I can respect that but you can also be an observer of the human condition. You can see a lot of things other than just posting "tell me if your mafia". There are all kinds of underlying human interactions that can give them away and certain players do have tells. If you had been in last game you could have seen EMO and LesbianChap give themselves away multiple times.

But I do agree with your statement about "Chill Dude" but it would have been more interesting to see the outcomes of those interactions without butting in IMO, instead of telling them that they look mafia because of that reason. Now they have a reason to make themselves look more innocent or go back read those things and change their play.

That would only be a favor to the mafia at this point (and I have no boss, THANK GAWD)... Are you saying "us" as in you and Ice? I can see either one of you choosing the other if made the Don. Hmmm...

Wow gunning for players that you know are considered good and help the town already HN?
Thought you'd be more careful then that, and on top of it all you post you are innocent.

Are you trying to hint to the other team?

What other tells are you going to use to make us think well he knows better than to say that so he must be joking.

How are you going to see trends in random vote throwing?

It won't be till the end of the day and thats only if we have votes more consolidated on a few players and not half the town. The only way to force the mafias hand is to push them into moving votes.

Its hard to get mafia Day 1 but not impossible. Unless we make it impossible.

It's very early in the game, and we have 40+ hours do decide on a lynch candidate. I think random votes are fine early on, as long as people acknowledge that it's to get discussion started. Anyone randomly voting, and then riding that vote until lynchtime should be viewed with extreme prejudice come Day 2.

I was replying to Clown but yes I agree with you to an extent.

I don't think any of the votes were cast to get discussion going. They were playfully thrown out. I'd expect most of them to fall off and go onto someone else, I also expect its a way for players to have a vote out there so they can hide and not have to add much.

I'm not taking any of them seriously except maybe the 2 I pointed out as kind of strange. But they are both newbs, well Mal has played a few but not sure she has grasped the game as well as others in the same amount of games.I don't really like to push the newbs on Day 1 unless its an extreme showing of mafiaism though, so as I said I'll just keep a close eye on those 2.

I un-do my vote for HN, and I'm not voting until nightfall!

LOL, is that so you can push the innocent over the edge if its close?

Can you explain why you voted for HN to begin with?

I only threw out my votes because of boredness... we need to pump this up a bit!

ILOVEBETTAS is walking down a dark alley in the middle of the day. She has an eerie feeling about this alley. Suddenly she catches a glimpse of a shadow a few feet down the alley. The shadow had a gun. What was he looking for? ILOVEBETTAS heard a voice, not too deep, not too high, talking to her. Who was it and what did he want?

Now I call that pumped! :headbang2:

I have my reasons why I did.

I barely even know what's happening. And no, of course if I told you my actual position you may not believe me, but I wasn't doing it for any mafia-reasons.

I disagree with that. Just because someone rides a vote doesn't mean they are evil. It's day one.

If you tell me you can pick out innocent and mafia now, I'll call you a fibber to your face.

Especially with this group... it's gotten to the point where day 2 is the new day one, because finally people are discussing mostly seriously and you can start to pick out some small trends.

Just to be annoying, I'll stick with my vote for Grins. It's not a terrible vote IMO and there are few (if any) 'better' choices. Make of it what you will. We'll be at loggerheads anyway ;)
