It's nuts, but I was getting some live rock from a chain store and in the tank was a guppy. (at least looks like a guppy)

I asked if I could have it and they gave it to me. It ate well last night and looked fine this morning. And it is in my bottom tub with a damsel LOL.

prob is a guppy, they can be brought up to full salt.

How long can they live, can they breed in salt?

Not to sure on those "?" 's but my guess would be they COULD live for a while and they COULD spawn. Havent really know anyone to keep them in SW let alone breed them.

they live a normal life-span in salt water same with black mollys some people use theses cheap tropical fish to cycle there tank so i`m gussing thats what the guppy was doing at the store a fish to keep the cycle going when stock is low......

I'm thinking along the lines of feeder fish. They are live bearers correct? So in a tank with plenty of nooks an cranny's, they could propogate with a few adults right?

Hmmm.

The damsel in the tank is a tiny skittish one, it is afraid of this wee guppy LOL.

LOW FLOW IS RIGHT ON!!!!

both guppies and mollies are live-bearers, and can tolorate brackish and marine conditions for long periods of time.

i actually used black molly fry to eliminate HA after my initial cycle.

one of theses days id like to acclimate a small school (5-7) and let Bane have at 'em.
