Mafia #26: Roadside Picnic the Game

Sandy wakes up to the crisp smell of sulphur, always good to clear a bit of the blahs out. He looks over the town to see how everyone is getting along and wonders how the experiment is going. One player, rwspears, appears to be questioning his presence in this town. Whether or not he will stay is yet to be determined.

Rwspears, if you are choosing to quit, please PM me, otherwise you will be tossed into the Zone this evening and your toenails may be pulled out one at a time.

That is all.
About 12 hours till Night.

Day 1 Votes:
9-No Vote From: bethkira; jpappy; gracecat; rwspear; rbishop; enya432; judge; ogre; jensons;
1-Gracecat: Swayde
1-Cory: Coler
7-Ogre: Ice; Cory; Johnlarson; Bkw; Plantling; Hooked; Lady G

While Day 1's are a hit or miss (and mostly miss) I believe that we can learn quite a bit from the voting pattern. However, I still believe Ogre to be a Stalker so my vote will stay even though I realize there are probably Stalkers on him right now.

I am also still concerned about Grace. She has fallen silent and I wonder if she's lying low since so much attention is on Ogre right now.

For the 9 that haven't, please don't forget to vote! (Unless you're a Stalker then feel free to get tossed into the zone. :grinyes:)

That is an awful lot of experienced players piling up on Ogre's train with very minimal efforts at turning over rocks to find more baddies. I don't like it. It gives me a very bad feeling. I've seen too many games where an innocent person makes an honest mistake and it gets totally blown up on them by one of the more vocal people and they end up with a large train because others are too afraid not to go with their own thoughts because it might look bad later on. And in the end, it gets blown over because, hey they made the mistake and looked like a bad person.

I am concerned that there are so many people who haven't voted as well. I know it was a busy weekened for me, perhaps it is for others, but some of those non voters do have several posts over the weekend. Hope we don't end up with a lot of innocents facing untimely deaths.

I still have a very bad feeling about Grace. People have sorta tried to defend her by saying, well she's a newbie, maybe she got the roles mixed up. Yeah maybe, but I am not so sure. For the first slip, yeah could be a mistake, but the second time after people had pointed out the first one really makes my evil alarm bells ring.

LG you sure a tame this round...not sure how to take that to be honest.

I'm keeping my vote on Grace because I do believe she's the most likely to be evil that I've seen so far.

I sincerely hope I am wrong about Ogre and that you guys are all right. Would be an excellent achievement for us to nail one on the first night and Ogre does seem to have a tendency to get discovered fairly quickly as an evil person.

Something Jensons said, popped in G's head...."I am really not certain that he is a stalker, but I am also not certain that he is not"....followed by "I am willing to bet that all the Stalkers are on Ogre right now, whether or not he is. This train looks promising as an alibi, if one were to need it".

Lady G puts her glass down, what exactly is it Jensons is trying to say?? Does she think (or know) Ogre is innocent or a stalker?? Is she trying to say those on him are stalkers too, trying to get the town against those that she knows to be innocent? By this statement that is what Lady is getting OR does she KNOW he is innocent and those that are on him are innocent also...again casting doubt on the innocent? Maybe the Crown is hitting G to quickly but does it look to be JENSONS IS A STALKER??? That she knows what the outcome will be on Ogre and is casting her doubt now before he is cast out???

Oh, my. It seems that one can't think out loud without being called a Stalker. I have reservations about Ogre being a Stalker. If I am wrong, so be it. How could anyone KNOW at this point? We can't. Trying to deflect attetion from yourself, G?

As I may not get anoher chance before nightfall,

I vote to toss RB into the Zone.

Don't have any clear evidence, this is a "gut feeling" vote, partially supported by the tone of his posting. He has also not really responded to my thoughts on him, a sign that maybe he doens't want to appear defensive and have the heat brought down.

No, Planting. I'm here, nothing so nefarious as hiding for me. My little boy is running a fever. Hopefully after a pediatric visit this afternoon, I'll be back tomorrow or day after roleplaying.

Right now my vote is to throw Ogre into the zone.

wow this is really a pickle, Ogre could be innocent or a stalker, meaning a case could be made for either. I was on Ogres team last game, and I know how good of a player he can be. I really don't think that the number thing is a "slip", yes it is weird, and makes you go hhhmmmm. I can't say for sure that I think Ogre is a Stalker, based on just that. But I also think that in being a good player that he deserves watching very closely.

Gracecat did make two "mistakes" not very far apart, but then she is new and in the excitement of the game was to eager and got confused on the roles.

And now everyone lets watch "Stalkers: What person can they make look evil and convince the town that person is evil...and save Ogre" episode. And Jensons officially opens up the show....

I have a limited amount of time here while the wee one isn't so clingy, but someone mentioned to Ice that I didn't answer him when he wanted to know why I was anti-Operative.

I thought I did. Somewhere I mentioned that in some realistic situations, I can fully see some Operatives take advantage against the civilians. Or they're "trigger happy", shoot now and ask questions later. In my roleplaying method, in my mind, they could be here to do their mission which is ultimately beneficial for the innocents but if they have to kill a few non-smugglers to get to the inner circle, then they're not going to cry over it.

That was the mentality I was basing my roleplay on. I guess we'll get more into newbie Q&A when we're able to discuss the game at the end.

Sandy is sitting on top of his microbus watching the reanimated zombies lurch about in the graveyard that edges the Zone. What kind of strange energy did that spacecraft emit that produced so many strange and undesired effects. Of course he knows these aren't real zombies like the ones in the horror movies, heck they aren't even real corpses. A Scientist friend of his once told him that these things are a silica based lifeform that spreads via the soil in the Zone. When they encounter DNA such as that in the remains of a body they duplicate it. The result are these artificial humans, no intelligence, no real signs of life. Just then a scrap of paper blows by and Sandy grabs it.

It appears to be some sort of document by the Tomagotchi Corporation, a UN advisory group no doubt. Just a few columns:
