Very new guy with new tank!

I see that from the search I did. I'm not planning on it right away but if it isn't reef safe then we wont want one anyway.

Naw, I am sure it is about as reef safe as any angel can be.. but that means things will be nipped at. Goes with the territory of owning an angel. It really is a nice fish as a juvi, not sure I care for the adult version and they seem to be a BIG angel, not a dwarf angel.

Wow nice picture. I wish I found that befor. LOL I don't know I'll have to show her all of this and see what she thinks. She knows more about salt water then I do. I just wanted to find the info on it for her. It's really going to be hers so it's up to her if we get it down the road or not. Thanks again for the help I don't think I would be able to do this SW thing if it wasn't for people like you on here and other sites. This is great.

The filter is ordered!

Well we finely ordered the filter yesterday. We tried so hard to get an RO/DI filter around here but could not find a place that sells them. I am hoping that it will be here by the middle of next week. That is really the only thing that is keeping us from getting the cycle going. We still have to get sand and rock but we can get that stuff here. I hate to wait to get something. I like to just goto the store pick it up, pay for it and leave. This five day waiting thing kills me. Now I know I have to wait for the tank to cycle and everything and there is nothing I can do about that but waiting for parts I hate to do it.

Anyway I can't wait to have it going and on it's way. every time I go to the fish store I want to buy stuff but I know I can't yet. I really think we are going to set up A QT a few weeks before the tank is done cycling just to get fish in the house and so we wont have to wait once the cycle is done. I have to say I am a bit nerves about the tank. I know I did allot of reading about building your own set up and everything but I am afraid it is going to leak and flood my apartment and the 2 below me. I have been running it with tap water and vinegar when I'm here to see if anything is leaking or not working right and I have not really found anything but this is my brothers 3 family house and I don't want to flood it on him. I guess I just have to trust the work I have done on see what happens.

Hey if it makes you feel any better my 210 was probably around 15 years old when I set it up, and to top it off, I resealed it. I had the same fears of catastrophic failure ( and still do to a certain degree) but so far so good. From what I can see, you have a really nice set up and have done a stellar job with your plumbing, stand, etc......I wouldn't worry at all about it. I spent weeks checking to see that my tank was still level and inspecting every seam, unplugging the filter pump to make sure there wouldn't be a flood in case of a power outage, etc.
I can't wait to see yours up and running!

So how about a recap of all the stuff you have, and what you still are thinking about/need to order. What sand are you going with? How much? How much live rock at first? All that fun stuff since your waiting around.

ace- ouch, all that money spent on water when it was free, like gettin kicked in the nutz when ur not lookin:swear:at least i have an ro unit at my moms house, so i'll save there but obviously the salt is gonna be a killer for me.

wood, those angels are nice when they're juvis, a buddy of mine has them in his 150, but i don't care for em when they grow up, and they get HUGE, he's currently trying to get rid of them because they're tearing through his corals, granted he has 4 of em, but stilll somethin to hink about

now i know someones gonna say it, but funny thing is he ws told not to put that many angels in the same tank, cuz they would fight, but his don't they kinda just mind thier own selves, even the guy at the lfs here was pretty shocked by it, he's tried several times, but says he can't get em to share with other angels, guess my buddy just has the magic touch!!!!
