Just a couple pics from a new paly. The first one was receiving more light than the second, from the same colony.

So off topic, but since it's what my masters is in (counseling, called different things depending where you go). . . Rorschach inkblot and very few use them. :)

Interesting palys. I wonder what they look like on normal viewing distance.
 
I completly dissagree. What you have there is a PALY, not a ZOO!:headbang2:
(kinda a difference)

based on zoa id.com, the family of zooanthids that include RPE, PPE, PRRPE, etc, are Zoanthus gigantus, the largest species of zoanthid.


what you gots there, arent even zooanthids, they're palys, therfore the deep water Palythoa Grandis.

Zoanthus gigantus are identified by the neon green mouth, black streaks in their stocks, and the willingness to take larger pieces of food.




Not thinking it is a grandis. This one is the size of a nickel, where as grandis are about 2"+ around. This is a pick of my grandis.
