What are these white things?

They are all over my rocks and the back of the tank...look like little swirly hard bubbles.

LOL, when my reef first started those things were everywhere. I always wondered what they where myself.. someone told me calcium deposits but I never thought that was right. They are spiral and hard, takes a good scraper to get them off. Anyone else know?

Nice tank BTW.. love all the fish.

planaria worms they use calcium for there exoskeleton you can scrape them off if its glass little harder if its acrylic

Worms found in the lovely little family of Spirorbidae-- in other words, spirorbid worms , just harmless little filter feeders.

Btw, they are a type of polychaete, not a planarian.

Ok as long as they are not bad...they make my background look like it has stars. Pretty cool little design actually.

yep if you look really closely you can see the little "feathers" coming out the end...

how large can they get because i have them on my seahorses tank and theyve been there for like 3 months and are still like the size of the tip of a pencil lol
